Lawyer Tran Quoc Hien, director of consulting company law Saigon, an active member of the democratic 8406 bloc and also the spokesperson for The Association of Workers and Peasants Union of Vietnam, an Association representing the class workers and peasants oppressed in the country. He has been freed after spent for 5 years in prison on charges of alleged "propaganda against the state socialist republic of Vietnam" under Article 88 and the charge of "disturbing security" under Article 89 criminal procedure law. In the words he said, he and some other democrats had to go through the months of suffering discrimination because of Vietnam's communist government and politics of the common violations. Also according to Mr. Hien, most political prisoner as he must be full-time sales to end sentences without parole as the ordinary prisoners, only a day and even if they are serving a sentence in a state of poor health by age and disease. This shows the inhumanity of the communist government of Vietnam.
As soon as the newly freed, lawyer Tran Quoc Hien had an interesting exchange with a radio reporter RFA. Thereby he again told the people the status of ethics and ideals of a true democrat, put the best interests of the people and the homeland on personal interests and his family when published an eloquent way that he will continue my fight for the petitioners support street demonstrations, lawsuits, corruption and land reclaim property that has robbed by the government to the people illegally. His courage again in public show of legality and good intentions of individuals, associations and organizations have been fighting for democracy, human rights and for the real prosperity of dear homeland Vietnam.
Spirit of service for the people, for the future homeland of attorney Hien, is a worthy example for the young people of Vietnam today to follow. Let's break chains and reverse yoke of oppression and injustice in society. Just as the responsibility of a citizen
Mr. Tran Quoc Hien was sentenced in May 2007 on the alleged "propaganda against the Socialist Republic of Vietnam" and charges of "disturbing security" under article 88 and 89 of the Penal Code of Vietnam. He was recently discharged from prison after just 5 year sentence and was released at 7 am this morning. Ms. Pham Thi Loc, his wife Hien said:
"I and my children go to catch him at 7 am. Transport him from prison on the District and then transported on to the ward and he is 11: 30. on 01 this month I went to visit him, he is reported today to pick him up because he was arrested Jan. 12, 2007. He's right 5-year sentence, not be reduced any day. "
Mr. Tran Quoc Hien, born in 1965, was arrested early in 2007 and his trial took place four months later at the City People's Court. HCM. He was accused the administration block 8406 and "conspiracy to organize anti-government demonstrations in Ho Chi Minh City" in 2006 when Vietnam hosted the meeting of Economic Cooperation Forum in Asia Pacific, known as APEC. At the trial in 2007, he said that allegations of violations of the law was unconstitutional. Mr. Tran Quoc Hien said his feelings are released when:
"Just out of prison, I can only say that I has escaped from the cage and into another larger cage only. Regarding the family can say I put more weight on social but I do not see much change but movement and form a strong fight on. "
Since his arrest, Hien he was detained at the camp K1 and K2, Xuan Loc prison, Dong Nai and some character other struggles for democracy. According to discussions with RFA, Mr. Hien said some prisoners were old and weak but not to be pardoned:
"In the course of the sentence, I was sharing with other democrats. In fact their lives very difficult. I want to raise a point on a humanitarian who was imprisoned there for so long. They were sentenced to 20 years but the sentence was 16 years and they are older, old age, disease that is not on parole even if they do not violate any rules of any camp. They not only because of their parole not guilty ".
In addition to participating in block 8406, Tran Quoc Hien was spokesman of the Association of Solidarity of rural Vietnam, an independent organization representing the workers and oppressed peasants in the country. In particular, this organization supports the claims, protests against injustice, corruption, demanding land and house property of the peasants were seized illegally. Mr. Tran Quoc Hien said it would continue to fight for these things:
"This is not a struggle for me but for my own country. I think it is the responsibility of a citizen of the country without freedom and democracy ".
Please be repeated, Tran Quoc Hien had graduated in law and served as director of legal consulting company in Saigon. He was sentenced to five years in prison and two years probation.
