THE TRUTH - JUSTICE - LOVE

Human rights in Vietnam is the worst period in the history of the national human rights totalitarian communism this far. Never, we have witnessed the same time Vietnam received harsh criticism from many International Human Rights Organizations, from many Non-Governmental Organizations as well as from many countries around the world, including the most prominent is from the U.S. government, with strong criticism and consistency from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to Congress, and Congressman, Senator, along with senior officials of the government, including the voice of the White House owner, U.S. President Barack Obama.
Speaking of the word "human rights" and think of what has happened in Vietnam that many depressed people have shook their heads depressively before behavior and human rights abuses in a serious way, and sophisticated Systematic of the Party leadership Group and the leaders of the senior authoritarian communist government of Vietnam. For the people of Vietnam today, a thought, an attitude or a behavior expression that comes from even patriotism without pleasing the Party and the government can lead them to the path an unfortunate incarceration. That is the cause of the United States government is increasingly expressed concern and criticism more strongly than for the worst human rights records of Vietnam that single out the hearings before Congress of the U.S. Congressman Christopher Smith today.
The U.S. government, the U.S. Congress will approve the Vietnam Human Rights Act of tomorrow, as well as the sanctions that Vietnam will face and accept that it is difficult to avoid if the House leader Party dictatorship and government officials are now considering not persist and improve worst human rights records of his country today. In particular the fundamental right to freedom of the people mentioned most and is most often the right to Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Religion and human trafficking in Vietnam. The leaders of Vietnam communist government can not continue to ignore public opinion and deep concern from the International Community. And that the government of Vietnam will not be able to simultaneously receive both of these opportunities, the grace, the role and great potential in the international arena and still be entitled to trample human rights, see generally law, disregard international law and despite the human moral conscience.

DB Christopher Smith talks about human rights in VN
Vu Hoang, RFA reporter
2013-04-10
During this week, many religious organizations and groups overseas Vietnamese from everywhere to Washington DC to lobby for law enforcement and testified before Congress on the situation of human rights and religious freedom in Vietnam. Vu Hoang interviews Rep. Chris Smith, as well as the author of the Vietnam Human Rights Act.
Vu Hoang: First of all please his overall assessment of the situation of human rights and freedom of religion and belief in Vietnam?
Christopher Smith: It is unfortunate and sad truth is that the human rights situation in Vietnam has gradually come down. There was a time when people expect bilateral agreement was signed, trade increased, human rights have improved, but the fact that it's worse, especially in terms of religious freedom, Human trafficking and of activists who wanted Vietnam to go the other way, then they are oppressed and imprisoned. Here, I would like to say to both internet freedom issues, those who post articles online pro-democracy, they are also easy jailed, even the level of long-term projects.
Vu Hoang: In your opinion, what measures need to improve the human rights situation as well as the issues that you just mentioned it?
Christopher Smith: First of all, the Obama administration should use the law, such as legislation on protection against Human trafficking laws or international religious freedom, there must be strict actions Vietnam upon violations of human trafficking and religious freedom. In both cases, records show clearly that Vietnam needs to be placed on the list of countries kind 3 on human trafficking and the country need to be particularly concerned about religious freedom.
This is the 3rd time I myself favor the introduction of the Human Rights Act to Congress, this legislation has 2 times through the House, but then, is not passed in the Senate. So we push that to put human rights legislation into law in Vietnam, because this situation is increasingly not being recognized properly.
Vu Hoang: He just mentioned Vietnam Human Rights Act, such as how long it will be bringing legislation to the Congress?
Christopher Smith: We will do as soon as possible, we will introduce legislation next week at the latest, or it could be this week, we're editing a bit for the final step. But here, I want to repeat once again, the human rights situation in Vietnam is bad, such as land coercion, repression of religious freedom. We are always with the oppressed, we speak up for them, so that the Hanoi government needs to be changes.
Vu Hoang: The last question is the suggestion was to amend the Constitution in 1992, he saw human rights, religious freedom ... was put a position like?
Christopher Smith: For me, the rule of law system is very important, all the promises on paper is not what exists and make sure basis, if they do not want to implement laws that , then it will not work. Vietnam State does not have a legal system for citizens to be able to rely on it or discuss complaints about the current laws. There is no system of checks and balances in a single-party regimes and dictators like that.
